Sharing “big brain imaging data” on a European and global level holds great promise to rapidly translate the latest scientific advances into important medical innovations.
The European Cluster for Imaging Biomarkers (ECIB) aims to carve out some of these excellent opportunities, while addressing the challenges and limitations of sharing brain imaging data in online data repositories, particularly considering the requirements of EU data protection laws.
In a meeting on 7-8 April, ECIB will discuss viewpoints, positions and approaches regarding Open Science based on a survey among more than 90 investigators of European projects such as Horizon, ERA-NET NEURON, JPND and IMI. It is high time that scientific investigators chime in on how to harvest the full potential of Open Science.
